Lion King
"Grrrrrr," Simba pulls at his father's ear when he didn't budge. “Oh, c'mon dad, wake up!"
Mufasa flexes his long body and stretches out his large paws. “Hmm, what is it this time Simba?"
"Its Wednesday today dad, and that means ... 'free time'!"
"Oh! oh, right? ... Hmm, well take Nala with you, okay? Zazu isn’t feeling well so he won’t be accompanying you”.
“Yes Father!” Simba piped, not paying much attention.
“Now run along and be careful. I want you home by sunset, you hear me son? I don't want to come out looking for you, again.” Mufasa stressed the last words to show how serious he was.
Simba takes off before his father could finish “Okaaayyyyy dad… See you soon! ”
Simba goes in search for his lioness friend Nala, and finds her at home look bored and rather sad.
“Hey Nala, how’s it going? Want to go hunting?”
“Ahhhh, not today Simba, last time we went hunting you promised to be back before sunset. Mom grounded me so now I have to stay home and help out with the others”.
“Oh c’mon, you’ve been cleaning out that den for four days now. I promise we’ll be back before we know it. PLEASE!”
“Hmpf... Alright, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to break the rules once in a while, however, you have a lot of explaining to do when mother finds out I’m gone”.
“Yay! I knew you’d say that. You won't regret it this time” Simba laughs.
Simba and Nala run off towards the east, a route they’ve never taken before. They are having so much fun that they don’t how far they have gone. Meanwhile, a distance ahead the Wild Animal Authorities are searching for an animal that attacked a nearby camp in the late hours of the night. Curiously, the pair sneaks up to one of the tents; hiding behind a large object they hear familiar voices. Up close they spot Scars three hyenas in cages, looking rather sad and scared. Banzai, Shenzi and Ed who had been lurking around the area earlier in the day were caught by the authorities and were then presumed to be the main suspects of the attack. Simba and Nala were so caught up in their thoughts that they don't realize they’ve been discovered until someone starts yelling. From all directions men ran towards their hiding place.“Uh-oh, Simba? I think they're running towards us.” Nala said nervously. Simba takes a step back and does a quick scan of the area, he spots a way out that leads to the jungle. “Okay, on my count to three I want you to quickly follow me, are you ready?”
Nala nods her head furiously, “I’m ready”.
“Okay, one…two… … …”
Simba and Nala didn’t wait for the third count; instead, scrambling from the scene they take refuge in the jungle. Silence surrounds the area as footsteps run right pass them. Moments later not a single noise can be heard apart from the deep gasping they were trying to keep hushed. Simba has a bad feeling about the area so he shoves Nala behind him and stand guard to protect her.
“Ahh Sim-baaa…” The soft sound of his name sent shivers down his back. Scar walks away from his hiding place to stand next to Simba.“Uncle Scar?” Keeping his voice low Simba describes what he saw, “Uncle Scar, you’ve got to help. We saw humans in the east and they have your friends defenceless and caged. If you don’t hurry they are going to load them into a big four legged monster thing” –meaning truck
“What? Wh…where? How is this possible? This better not be one of your silly games Simba, I’ve got much useful things to do right now”.
“No, I’m not lying, over there”, Simba points in the direction. Scar hesitates for a few seconds and stares into empty space, "you two stay low, and keep out of sight. I'm going to help my friends, they need me." And with that he sped off. The duo watches him leave until he is out of sight.
It's getting dark and Nala is urging Simba to leave. “C’mon Simba, let’s get out of here, our parents must be worried"
Simba and Nala leave the area and take the long way home, staying well clear off the roads. Behind them a loud rumbling noise shakes the ground. “Oh no, not again...Hide!”
As fast as he can, Simba pushes Nala down the bank and hides behind the bushes. Waiting quietly he watches the vehicles drive pass. Simba looks up to find Benzai the hyena caged up, staring at him from the back of the truck.
“Simba! Simba, is that you? Get us out of here!”
Simba was now really frightened; the hyenas might give away their hiding place. The trucks didn’t stop but just continued on their way. Simba was confused, why the humans ignoring Benzai. Can they hear him? Do they not understand him?
Inside the truck, the authorities have placed a mouth guard over the hyenas’ snout. Seems like he trying to say something but the only thing the humans could hear is long disturbing wails and yowls.
The last truck slowly drove pass with humans, possibly searching for other animals. Inside one of the cages lay a slumped figure, with shoulders slouched and head slightly bent. Simba watches as the figure painfully moves its body so it is faces the road, the fear and distress in his eyes bared all. Scar, his uncle has been captured and his fate now in the hands of the humans.
"No way, it can’t be..."
Simba slid down the bank to where Nala is waiting. “Let’s leave Nala! Father needs to know about this.” Sniffling Simba turns around and leaves first dragging his feet as he goes; behind him Nala falls deep into thought. Were those tears glistening in his eyes?

wow! nice idea!
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see the next chapter!
however, i personally think that the dialogue and the atmosphere is a little bit gloomy for a child animation. simba seems like he is over 11 years old?
i dont know maybe i misunderstood lol
It kind of depends on how you read the story. It does however sound a little gloomy, tried to make it sound cheerful but I guess it wont suit the current situation they're in. I believe I could do better but in doing so I would have to change a lot of things. I wanted a happy ending but this is how it ended up haha
ReplyDeleteOh, and I didnt really think of an age ... any age would do :)
